Ireland West Airport Knock (NOC)
History, Facts and Overview

(Knock, Charlestown, County Mayo, Ireland, IE)

The Ireland West Airport Knock is a relatively new addition to the country's aviation scene, opened in 1986. This modern development was planned to bring prosperity to County Mayo and open up the famous Knock Shrine to the world.

Knock's airport has gained much recognition since it opened and its long runway was able to accommodate huge Boeing jet planes and similarly sized aircraft, which began to use the airport periodically from 2003. Recently awarded the prestigious title of the 'Best Regional Airport in Ireland', the budget flights at Ireland West Airport Knock are particularly popular.

Facilities at Ireland West Airport Knock (NOC) include a Bank of Ireland cashpoint, an information desk, an Internet kiosk, a restaurant overlooking the runway, two bars, one shop (the Travel Retail Shop) and a children's play area.

Reputable car hire companies such as Avis, Hertz and Europcar are represented in Arrivals. Car parking for more than 1,000 cars is situated close to Knock's airport terminal and has 24-hour security.
